Flight Camp

Dear Incoming 6th Grade Students and Parents,

We are looking forward to welcoming our new Falcons to Fowler Middle School during our “Falcon Flight Camp” on Monday, August 8, 2022. During this event, your students will experience their first pep rally, tour the school, meet their teachers and familiarize themselves with their schedule and classroom layout. Collectively, these activities will help your child become more familiar with Fowler Middle School and hopefully, ease any “butterflies” they might have!

Schedules will be available for pick-up in the cafeteria beginning at 8:30 am and the festivities will start in the large gym at 9 am.  Please be sure you arrive early so that you have plenty of time to pick-up the schedule. If you ordered a school supply packet from REI in the spring, those will be available for pick-up on Monday morning as well.  However, your student will be very busy and active that morning so an adult will need to be available to help with the packet.

The 9 am pep rally is a celebration for all 6^th graders and their parents.  At the end of the pep rally, our 6th graders will be dismissed to begin the student activities and there will be an optional parent orientation in the cafeteria with Mr. Wiseman and our assistant principals.  The parent orientation will last about an hour, then parents may wait in the cafeteria to meet their students at 11 am.  Parent are not required to attend Flight Camp or the orientation, so if you drop your student off in the morning, please be sure that you make arrangements to meet your student at the front of the school at 11 am.

Finally, I wanted to include the information below regarding 6^th grade PE Uniforms:

Fowler 6^th graders will dress out for PE or Pre-Athletics each day their class meets.  The standard PE uniform is plain black shorts and a plain gray t-shirt. You may purchase uniforms at Frisco Sports Center, 10150 Legacy Drive, Ste 200A, Frisco, Texas 75003, 972-335-3630.  The uniform is $24 for the set, or $12 for the shirt, and $13 for the shorts.  Students may also wear plain black shorts and plain gray t-shirts from discount or department stores like Target, Walmart,  Kohls, or JC Penney.  Parents are encouraged to purchase at least 2 uniforms so that students have a back-up during the week and do not have to wear the same clothes 4 or 5 days in a row.
